These Straps Are Great. i throw Them over my car and I don't have to worry because the metal is coated in a rubber sleeve. This Makes Strapping On The Kayaks Very Easy. Great Product & Great Brand. I recommend them over the cheaper straps.

I sought these out because someone else had some. They were hard to find and no stores carried them. After hearing about two stories where kayaks went "flying" off cars and in one case killed a cyclist, I take this aspect of boating safety seriously.
I hope these straps help prevent such an accident for me.
